I go to Target because all things baby are there in one place.
Stores with fluorescent lights are challenging for me,
but I have come to like Target.
This is why I am appalled at the Liberty of London DISHES!!!
The ties are poor imitations,
the women's clothing is at best amusing and whimsical,
but the DISHES...well
they upset me.
This is why:
Clearly there is a license agreement.
The flowers have none of the depth in detail that I remember.
I formerly considered this clothing beautifully designed,
created with care and special. Now I have visions of women matching their table settings.
Seeing it in this new light
disturbs my memory.
I keep thinking of the J. Guiles song
My Angel's in the Centerfold
I suppose it is mature of the company to save itself by making more money.
I must remember the ties from my childhood as individual items.
They can no longer be a statement of sophistication.
I miss Liberty of London.
It was here even when Bob was not.
If I hadn't seen the new version my memory would still be intact.
I miss ideas.
I may be able to mourn a concept more easily than a person.
xoxo,
Bob's Daughter
This is the beginning of an adventure. Somewhere between play, curiosity, possibility, outrage and a daughter's thought of 'what if?' Last night MyLife.com popped up and asked me if I would like to reconnect with Robert Caigan. It said that I can send him an email. My father died in 1978. Let's see what happens next...
